From The Daily News by Pete Frecchio QUINNESEC- Breitung Township Superintendent Steve Soltis plans to retire on April 6. Soltis' retirement was announced at a special meeting of the Breitung Township Board of Trustees Wednesday night. The board agreed that an immediate search will begin via newspapers, trade publications, and the internet to find a replacement for Soltis, who has held the position of township superintendent for the last five years. It was with deep regret that the board unanimously accepted Soltis' resignation. All board members agreed that Soltis had had a positive effect on the continued growth of Breitung Township. "Working for the township and with the township board has been a pleasure for me," said Soltis. "It made my decision to retire a hard one." "I feel that since I am still in good health, now is the time to make the move," he said. "I appreciate all the help the board has given me and am pleased with the things we've been able to accomplish." "I wish the township nothing but the best for the future," he said. Prior to becoming the Breitung Township Superintendent, Soltis was a Chief Building Official in Butler County, Ohio. He learned about the Breitung Township job from his daughter. Soltis is looking forward to spending plenty of time with his family and grandchildren and expects to do a lot more hunting and fishing. More on finding a replacement for Soltis will be discussed at the next regular meeting of the Breitung Township Board of Trustees, Monday, March 13, at 7pm, at the township hall. |
