Refuse Collection

Breitung Township contracts with Great American Disposal (GAD) for refuse collection service.  Information regarding the refuse collection service can be found in the Breitung Township Waste Management Ordinance.

   Penalty Added to Garbage Fee

Per motion of the Township Board, there will be a $5.00 late charge as of September 15, 2011.  Oct. 1, 2011 add 1% penalty to the balance due; Nov. 1, 2011 add 1% to the balance due, continue to add 1% on the first of each month thereafter until paid in full.  If not paid by Nov. 30, 2012 the unpaid balance will go onto the 2012 Winter property tax bill as delinquent refuse.  Checks must clear or receipt is void.

The office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.   There is a drop box for after hours.

GAD also provides a Recycling Program for Dickinson County Residents.

Breitung Township residents can bring their leaves free-of-charge to GAD's Solid Waste Processing Facility on Baler Drive behind Tri-City Theater.  Residents can also bring their small limbs and brush to the Township's compost site.  Please no stumps, building material or leaves! This facility is for the occasional homeowner's use, not for commercial or large volume clearing.  Keys can be signed out at the Township Hall.
